A story to tell

Hello! My name is Jessica Elizabeth Giesbrecht

I am an artist based in the Georgian Bay region, deeply inspired by the shifting light on the water, rugged shorelines, and quiet beauty of Parry Sound and the surrounding area. I am a teacher full time, and started my career in northern Manitoba. After returning to Ontario to be closer to my family and friends, I found myself in Parry Sound reconnecting not only with loved ones, but with the landscape that now shapes and inspires my creative voice. Working primarily in woodburning and watercolour, I try to capture the movement of water, the textures of wind-swept trees, and the warmth of natural materials. I hope my work reflects a sense of homecoming rooted in memory, connection, and the peaceful rhythm of life along the bay that I’m so grateful to have found for myself, and hope for you to find as well.

I’d like to take the time to thank my family and friends who have pushed me, encouraged me, and believed in me and my art. I owe everything to the community I have around me supporting me at every turn. I’m forever grateful. And to my Dad, who; sources the wood, makes some frames, and gave me the nickname JEG which signs every piece I make, you are the best.

Thank you for your support!
